Vintage Sketches

There's nothing quite like the fun of seeing something that you worked on a long time ago, whether that be a drawing or painting, a poem or a short story. Sometimes it'll make you smile; sometimes it'll make you cringe and you'll wonder what you were thinking. But it's always a blast from the past. In trying to find some of my more recent sketches (to which I sadly discovered that I have not done many of late), I found a few that date back up to ten or more years old. Some of them I do remember drawing, some I even still actually have the original copies - though those are quite old now and are a bit worse for wear. It's quite likely I'll be able to find more as time goes by, but for now, enjoy this roundup of some sketches that are as twenty years ago - and don't worry, while I am sharing them, I most certainly do find them cringe! While I loved art, I certainly didn't always put in the effort or refine my technique and that certainly shows... ...

The Newfie Bunny

As it's Easter Friday, I thought it would only be fitting to post an Easter themed update! Meet Chewy the Newfoundland, the cutest Easter bunny around! I generally don't put colour in my black and white sketches, but I decided to break with tradition to highlight his bunny ears! I found Chewy on TikTok, and when I saw him I just knew I had to sketch him for Easter. Newfoundlands have quite the thick, shaggy coat and I must admit, I was unsure if it would look any good as I'd never attempted an animal with a coat such as his. However, I persevered, as the cramping in my hand can tell you! Completed 03/04/2026 Happy Easter, everyone!
