A lot of my animal drawings come from people on Instagram, Tiktok or Reddit. This is one of the few that does not. This was drawn from a photo that I took some years ago, when I was on holiday at the Sunshine Coast. I adore golden retrievers, and this happy boy came running up to me while I was chilling on the sand. He all but plopped in my lap, and the owner was - initially - very apologetic. However, it absolutely made my day, as they're one of my all time favourite breeds! After assuring the owner of that, we chatted about this goofball of a dog while he sat there, happy as Larry, with his fur flying every which way.
So of course I couldn't help but take a photo of the cutie, and now, I've captured him in ink. That still remains one of my favourite dog interactions to date, and part of why I wanted to sketch him - I mean, wouldn't you?
